Paros Naoussa  

If you ask a visitor of Paros what he remembers, most probably he will mention Naoussa.

A unique fishing village, Naoussa combines the glory of history with the natural beauties and hospitality of the people.

Narrow, white paved streets, small churches, almost in every corner. The town that hugs the typical port with the old ruined castle, the colourful fishing boats, the famous smells of "gouna" and "souma" among the tables of numerous ouzeri, give to Naoussa a special and peaceful image, that everyone  misses afterwards. The mind flows, miles away to the past, and brings memories of the pirates, the trying of people to protect their life and their town. Each road, every stone, every old fisherman has his own story to tell… It's up to you if you wish to hear it.

As you'll walk around the streets, you find many nice restaurants, of all and different cuisines, typical ouzeri near the port, small charming bars, big and noisy music clubs, whatever you ask you can find in her streets. But during August, you must expect the traffic jam, and the luck of parking space that it can become a reason of nervous break down.

But a visit of Naoussa, we assure you is worth the risk!

The best beaches around Naoussa, are many, most famous being Kolymbithres, Monastery and Agioi Anargyroi.

From Santa Maria, there is an old road leading to Ambela. Oh, you have to go there… You can find a few nice restaurants, with typical Parian recipes, and also the famous "astakomakaronada", to walk around the fishermen when they are fixing their nets, to enjoy a nice meal in front of a nice sandy beach, giving a wide and clear look of Naxos. This fishing village, is a village that becomes vivid and alive during summer time, and you can find almost everything there. If you decide to stay, there are nice small hotels and self catering accommodation that offers a pleasant and quiet stay. But you have to consider the fact that there is no public bus to connect Ambela with Naoussa, maybe because the distance is that short. Ambelas is a nice choice to spend your holidays  if you have your own transportation
