Paros Hotel Guide

Paros beaches
Plakoto, Argiakas, Tsoukalia, Molos bay

The old road continues through the country side and takes you to every one of the beaches on the eastern side of the island.

You can go to Plakoto, a small rocky beach where you have to step down some steps in order to reach the beach. As you can imagine it's not that crowded.

Almost next to it is Argiakas. A rocky beach also, but with nice white stones (for those who like to collect them or even paint them).

You can continue to Tsoukalia beach, which is wider and sandy compared with the other two. If you ignore the few houses there, that are hidden behind the rare trees, it gives the impression that you are in the middle of nowhere. Nice beach though and good for the windsurfers. But on the side of Kefalos mountain (right side) there are some sharp rocks inside the water, which under strong winds, make it a bit dangerous for the windsurfer beginners.

After 3km you will reach Molos Bay with its wide and sandy beach. For Molos we have to tell you that it's only the last 10 years that became known after this road was made. Molos is surrounded by the mountains of Kefalos and Antikefalos and all this land is owned by the monasteries.

On both mountains and close to the sea, there are two small churches, the "rich" Agios Nikolaos on the Kefalos side, and the "poor" Agios Nikolaos from the Antikefalos side. The story was that the "rich" church was inside the property of the monasteries and so there were monks that were taking care of the church, making ceremonies and keeping the lights of the candles alive everyday. While at the same time the "poor" church that was on the other side, was abandoned and empty for years. But the last decades the story is changed, since the monastery abandoned the area and people from Marmara Village reached the "poor" church. Now the two churches have changed their roles and of course their names too.

In the area there are a few restaurants, where you can find fresh fish, as both owners are fishermen with their boats tied up to the pier close to the church
