Paros Transportation  

Paros is connected by airplane with Athens international airport Elefterios Venizelos. At this moment there is one or two flights per day, departure times depending on the day. During the summer season there are 3 flights maximum, usually one early in the morning, one midday and onother one in the afternoon. Duration of the trip is about 25 minutes.

Paros can also be reached by boat. Boats to Paros depart either from the port of Piraeus or the port of Rafina, which is the closest to Athens Airport. The Pier at the port of Piraeus, where Cyclades boats depart, is right opposite the train/metro station, within a walking distance of 200-400 m from the bus terminal to Athens airport.
 

HIGH SPEED BOATS

Departure times depend on day and time of the year. Normally there are about 4-5 departures daily from Piraeus, two in the morning and two usally in the afternoon or early in the evening. From the port of Rafina there is normaly one departure early in the morning, via Tinos and Mykonos islands.

High speed boats provide plane seats, snack/coffee bars and TV. The duration of the trip is about 3 hours (either from Piraeus or Rafina) and the cost is higher than normal ferries. H/S ferries do not have deck area; passengers required to stay inside the boat during the trip.

Important notice: Departure of H/S boats are subject to weather conditions.


NORMAL BOATS

There are 4-6 departures per day to Paros from Piraeus port and at least 1-2 departures per day from Rafina port. Normal boats are larger and travel even during strong winds. Their facilities include restaurant, TV lounge, plane seats, cabins with 2-4 beds, mini shops and deck area where passengers can enjoy the sun and the sea before reaching their destination. Duration of the trip is 4-5 hours from Piraeus (as Paros is usually the first destination) and around 6,5 hours from Rafina port, from where Paros is usually the last destination on the route).

Paros can be reached from other Cycladic islands with normal boats or H/S ones. Departure times depend to the period of the year.

Please note that when you have bought your tickets in advance, you have to be at the port at least 30 min before scheduled departure. Also pay attention to boat announcements, so that you disembark at the correct port.


LOCAL  BUSES

The main bus station is located just next to the port of Parikia Town. Several connections to the villages and beaches and a timetable are offered. Tickets are sold on the bus.
