Local products are of good quality - Naxos' visitors are always very grateful that tomatoes taste like tomatoes. Lemon fruits, vegetables and "Naxos potatoes" are very famous. The local cheese "Graviera", "Mizithra" and "Kefalotiri" are produced either in the cheese factory of Agia Anna or in the villages.
"Kitron" is a kind of lemon liqueur, made from the more tasteful leaves of the exotic Kitron fruit and can be found at the distilleries of "Vallindras" or "Promponas". Worth mentioning is the importance of the minerals emery and marble, traditional woven textiles from the villages and meat from the country. A good collection of local products like olives, olive oil, herbs and honey is given in the traditional smelly cheese shop of "Tsiblakis" in Chora. Handmade pottery can be acquired in Chalki ("L'olivier") or in Damalas ("Libertas"), for example. Remember also the "Eye of Naxos":
