Potatoes - Tomatoes - Sweet Onions - Herbs

Naxos potatoes and onions are famous aroubd Greece for their wonderful and distinct taste.Naxos' visitors are always very grateful that tomatoes taste like tomatoes. You can find them at local grocery stores and big supermarkets.

Also the local herbs have a wonderful smell and taste and it would be a good idea to get some before leaving the island.

Naxos has a great variety of traditional art to show.

The "Weavers' Association of Komiaki" and the " Traditional Women's art Association"  keep many types of traditional Naxian art alive.It would be a good idea to visit them and have a look at the traditional art of Naxos. Also note that during the summer there are various exhibitions in Chora.

Handmade pottery can be acquired in Chalki ("L'olivier") or in Damalas ("Libertas"), for example. 

Graviera - Anthotiro - Kefalotyri - Myzithra - Arseniko

There is a great variety of different kinds of cheeses on the island. Most of them are not mass produced and are sold in various points in Chora of Naxos and the villages.  

Raki - Citron - Wine

Naxos produces exquisite alcoholic drinks. Some of them are rumoured to have medicinal power. Try the wonderful "raki with honey", as well as the famous Citron drink. You can buy "Citron" liqueur at many shops in Chora. 

You may also want to try the wine made at some of the villages of Naxos, like Filoti, Koronos and Komiaki. If you buy some, you can get it directly from the barrel. 

Marble and Emery of Naxos are widely known. Naxian marble is one of the best marbles in the world.

Same applies to the island's emery. It was used a lot in the past in warsand is still being used for medicinal and other reasons.

The famous "Naxos Eye" is a special stone that can only be found on the island of Naxos. Created by the combination of the Greek sea, sun and other climatic conditions, Naxos Eye remains one of the trademarks of Naxos.

You can find it on jewels sold at jewellery shops on the island.
